I am a professional Yacht Captain and sailed the world for almost 30 years. I had always been an avid photographer , but had never picked up a paint brush until 2014 when I retired. Not knowing where to start, I turned to UA-cam where I found the fundamentals to get started. There are so many wonderful artists who love to share their passion and that led me to another creative adventure, videoing my own paintings to share on UA-cam. I continue to learn and challenge myself with new mediums and techniques. I invite you to share my adventures in this wonderful world of Art.

I’m so happy you’re still with us.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Mines seem to be a hit and miss. Picc line infected, so I had to. 3rdccycle access directly to my vein (most painful thing) cause I couldn’t get a appt or the appt was too early for me to hold my blood thinners. They kept rescheduling and it became 3 days before my 4th cycle. I’m scared it’s too early because of the incisions to put numbing and access. Although it seems you can access right away. Thank you for posting!

You don’t have to put the cream way up to the neck. Just around the port where they put the needle. But not up to the neck. I hope you won against cancer and cancer free.
Hi Jessica. I was told that sometimes the tube that goes up your neck gets sore, so I always added a little more than probably necessary. I never had any problems or pain. I just got the port removed and have been NED for about 18 months. Good luck on your journey!

Hate the benadryl
After chemo all i do is eat. Even though i have chemo belly. Which is pain and bloating. No nausea
I realized not to take unisom sleep aid at night. After chemo it will make medicines over the counter react strong. I was so doped up 24 hours
I was to doped up on benadryl to do anything

Thank you Karen for sharing us your experience. I had my first chemo Feb12,2024 ,but I had only carboplatin they can’t give me the taxol because of my liver enzyme is high. So for the second chemo is supposed to be March 4 th But they moved it March 11th because of my platelets is very low. Thank you for making me stronger. God bless you.
Stay strong and positive. I have had several chemo sessions postponed due to platelets. I have had two recurrences but am currently NED and have been for 18 months. I am going to have my chemo port removed next week! Take care and wishing you the best.

Hi there had my 1st Carbo & Taxol 3 days ago. Day 1 slept 4 hours after treatment. Day 2 was fantastic smooth sailing just a little tired. Day 3 is rough bone pain and fatigue but nothing els. Keep fighting don't give up!

Hello! I'm about to get this same surgery sometime in October. I'm just wondering how you are doing now, a year after surgery. Do you have any more pain in the thumb tendon? Do you have any restrictions in movement? Have you lost any grip strength? Thank you!
Hi Dan, Sorry you have to have the surgery. The surgery itself was relatively easy. I recovered well and have much less pain. I still have some pain in my thumb and eventually have to have another surgery on the thumb itself. Having said that, I am glad I had the deQuervain's surgery and I do wish you the best.
How do you sleep at night? I going through chemo just had first treatment. 6 days after not good bones hurt bad most of the time.
The doctor suggested I take Claritin to help with side effects. I can only take Tylenol or pain. It does get better. Stay strong and positive! Good luck with your treatment!
Painted this beaver today for a friend , she asked for a beaver weeks back and so finding this awesome tutorial you did I painted it for her. It turned out very well. It's a piece I think she will very much enjoy. Thank you for the time and teaching!

Karen my cancer journey was rough too I am stage 4 pancreatic and I got a chemo regimen called flofirinox it’s oxaliplatin 5fu Irinotecan and luecovorin I got the numbness in my fingers and toes eventually it now in all my hand and whole foot I got the nebulasta and let me tell you it makes chemo worse it’s a crummy combo the Claritin trick didn’t work for me. I lost my hair 11 days after my first cycle. I felt totally fine days 1 and 2 then day 3 omg I felt miserable. I couldn’t have anything cold . I threw up on day 5 they gave 3 meds in the in for throwing up before the chemo and they worked til day 5 . It’s not anything I’d wish on anyone but hope your better.
